Fascinating. This school district just bought Sherwood elementary school at 95ave and 153st. Rumour is they plan to tear down in a few years and rebuild a bigger/new school. Could be a similar approach to what they’re doing here.
WHAT! that will be great for 95 ave
Also Another Aging school Bites the Dust!

They did the same in St. Albert a few years ago by building a large brand spankin' new Paul Kane High School right behind the old one and then tore down the old one when it was ready. New Paul Kane looks really nice and I bet the students and staff love it !! 😍

^ awesome. Hope we'll continue to see some of these old Esso station sites sold and redeveloped. They have that site on 99th just off 89th ave for sale as well which is a pretty great location.

Couple years back Imperial/Esso was getting pricing for remediation on a number of sites around Edmonton. Just saw WSP doing some sort of soil testing on the 127th & 118 ave site. And the 107 & Groat site had some remediation work done last year.

This would be great, backs onto the Warehouse District Park.

Also next to the funeral home that is still for sale. Would be amazing to have some housing plans there too - combined with Westrich site across the street and that area would be gaining some good density. Also ideal with both Norquest and MacEwan there.

Location, location, location! 🤣 Still for sale? I wonder if that funeral home is long for this world

From the Government of Canada:

Introducing a Standardized Housing Design Catalogue

Standardized housing design catalogues were originally a tool used by the federal government between the late 1940s and 1970s. Budget 2024 will propose $11.6 million to reinvent this 1940s catalogue for 2024.

The catalogue will reduce costs and timelines for home building by providing a standard set of designs that will provide economies of scale and reduce barriers to entry in the homebuilding sector.

In Fall 2024, we will publish the first phase of the catalogue which will include up to 50 low-rise housing designs—including accessory dwelling units, modular homes, and multiplexes—for use across Canada. The next phase of the catalogue will include mid-rise and single-family home designs.
