^north of 118ave 97 st is a 7 lane behemoth of a stroad. who would opt to live right beside it? I think between 118 and the yellow head should be retail and services with people living a block away from all the traffic. of course it isn't up to me.
I thought it was 9 lanes before the bridge under CN rail.

There's a service road that separates 97 st from the buildings on that side of the road, so its not as close as it seems. There also appears to be 2 CRUs on the main floor in that rendering.

I don't disagree that we need more retail on 97 street, but more higher density residential along that stretch is necessary too. At least that development addresses both of those needs

97th Street/Canadian Forces Way might just be the posterchild for the word "Stroad"

I also saw that a new project seems to be starting at 21806 91A Ave NW, it was called something with Edison in the name but I couldn't find any information online

Edison is the word of the day at the moment - there's an "Edison" going up on Ellerslie and 50th - almost done - looks sharp with some outside LED lighting. I think I heard of a 3rd Edison somewhere else.

I drive by there everyday. Parkade is finished and they’re framing Level 1. I think the fence says it’s called “Edison West”.
