The IBM plant at Don Mills & Eglinton was built when the surrounding farm lands were just beginning to be converted into the community of Don Mills.

Then. James and Albert [looking W along Albert]. 11:45am. Feb 20, 1913. Almost one hundred years ago. Eaton's Annex store on the right, City Hall on the left.

Now. April 2012. The Annex store came down sometime in the early 80s, I think.. replaced by an office complex used mostly by Bell Canada.

That was quite a sad day! My grandmother and I were at Nathan Philips Square when that happened. We shopped at the old Eaton's often.

Santa was very brave in those days - to climb those two ladders into Toyland.
The balcony with the photographers is interesting - even a motion picture cameraman capturing the event.
