Not nearly as sad as your Bata Shoe HQ avatar. :( Still miss that place. It really made the north side of Eglinton Avenue.

I miss it too. I really hope there is an appropriate commemoration of Bata within the new Ismaili complex. It was one of the conditions imposed by North York for demolition approval. I've kind of lost my frustration with what happened. The new buildings really are stunning. Bata and Union Carbide were the worst for me.

I can't get over just have prevalent the Union Jack was just ten years before we got the Maple Leaf flag and twelve years before the Centennial. You'd think they'd just gotten off the boat and founded the colony that afternoon. How would anyone ever know that was Toronto and not Manchester?

Correction: I count more than 20 'jackets'!
Please pardon my pedantry.
