The waterfront that most people would have liked to see is probably one in which everything in front of the Harbour Commissioners Building was parkland and low-rise amenities like museums. It was once possible. Even if its fate was private development, the bottom photo shows how inappropriate the Harbour Square complex is. It takes up most of the land and minimizes public access to the water's edge.

Ick, all the brick in the city looked so dirty back then, no wonder many people didn't care about taking them down.

Anna: Old City Hall is a Toronto classic and thankfully it was preserved remembering
that at one point during the 1960s it was threatened to be demolished to make way
for a new building project that was proposed for that site - and learning of how the
Registry Building was torn down because of its being adjacent the current City hall site
it was a building that probably should have been saved but the mindset of the 50s and
60s was that "Newer is Always Better" and we now know better then that...These
are the types of things that I have learned about further due to my membership here
at UT...LI MIKE

The ladies who gave part of it a good scrub so people could see the beauty underneath.
