Watermain construction on Ninth Line
The Region of Peel is carrying out two sewer projects along Ninth Line this year ahead of the widening of the roadway itself. The watermain installation project currently underway at Derry Road and Ninth Line involves tunnelling work across the watercourse on Derry Rd and is expected to be completed in the fall. The other more extensive project is the replacement of existing sanitary sewers for larger ones, along the east side of Ninth Line stretching from the Osprey Marsh down to Erin Centre Blvd. Likely starting in June, this project will involve some temporary road closures and detours where certain streets access Ninth Line. More information will be provided once the construction schedule is confirmed. Thank you for your patience as you navigate (or avoid) these construction zones. This will mark the beginning of years of construction along Ninth Line between Eglinton Ave and Derry Road to accommodate the development growth in the area and address the resulting traffic congestion.
