However, the idea of utilizing those corridors for some form of RT isn't dead.
Nobody disputes this. What was ridiculous was trying to bully the city into handing over the entire corridor, for what Mr. Potvin admitted to, would be used to blackmail the city into paying for their service. Remember, Moose wouldn't provide service until the community into a station catchment paid up.

It is that regulatory consideration that was dangerous.Joseph Potvin (and MOOSE) could have have used the Prince of Wales bridge in about the same capacity as Mark Brooks (and Friends is the Pickering Airport) could use the Pickering Airport Lands to build an international airport.
The only difference is that the law gave the MOOSE trolls regulatory consideration that Mark Brooks could never get. Imagine there was a law that said if the government was disposing of land set aside for building an airport, they would have to consider anybody and everybody with interest in building an airport, irrespective of the capacity to build an airport. What do you think Mark Brooks would do with such a law?

However, what can happen is Ottawa setting up their own regional network. Considering all the railroad ROWs they have acquired (The Trillium Line was only 1 example) they can have a true world class network without the need to bury everything like a certain city... not mentioning any names.....
