1548 Queen West. Is it time to divide this thread? I would suggest ‘main street’ mixed-use multiple and those that are purely residential.

Or not. Lol

I would leave this multiplex thread for up to 4 units + garden / laneway suite (i.e. the new as of right everywhere residential), and create a new thread for "large multiplex" being 5 - 12 units, or mixed-use (like 3 apartments over retail). We'll see these types probably mostly on main streets, but to me better to divide by built form than location. But either could work fine.

Great idea. BTW does anyone know the architect for the multiplex above? Looked on CofA and nothing. I find it interesting.

This almost complete multiplex conversion is on College and has a yard in front that could support a patio! I wonder if any of the units facing the front a live/work?

For 1548 Queen St W ? I believe it's romanov romanov Architects, But don't think they do many such developments.

Hi everybody,

I have a property in the East York area and would like to turn it into a four-plex (basement + 3 floors, one unit on every story). I heard I may need two stairwells to comply with the building code. I prefer to know before going to an architect. Does anybody have any ideas?

I believe, If you stick to a triplex, then you won't need the two staircases.

If someone was interested in renting a unit in one of these multiplexes, is there a site they can visit?

That is to say if these are rentals.
