Forgive me if this has already been brought up, I’ve searched various forums, and I haven’t found anything about this, but happened upon it reading the Globe and Mail, just click on the link below to see what I’m talking about. It sounds like a very exciting and challenging project, just curious if anybody knows anything further about it, and if so, what exactly have you heard?

Doesn't Toronto have a World Trade Centre, at the corner of Yonge and Queen's Quay, albeit a Residence World Trade Centre?

Yes it does, but I’m referring to a real world trade centre. Many cities in the world have a world trade centre, and are usually a landmark structure like the one in NYC, click the link below to see what I’m referring to,

The Board of trade have had a "World Trade Centre" in First Canadian Place for many years - it has offices and meeting rooms that you can rent by hour etc. I suppose one day they might move it to a sparkling new building but it probably needs to be close to customers in CBD.
