Are they going to have even fewer parking spots as a result? It says they will put parking under the new expansion but I doubt they are going to even equal what they have now.

Pics of the Vancouver store opening next Friday - may give an idea of Toronto's store...

"Nordstrom has found that setting up logistics and buying systems in Canada “definitely is complex,” he said. As a result, it is delaying for a second year – to 2018 – the launch of its fast-growing discount Rack stores here, he said. It will locate its first Rack at Bloor and Yonge Streets in Toronto, steps from the upmarket Mink Mile, in a new condominium building."

As the scaffolding comes down, the exterior of Nordstrom Eaton Centre is slowly being revealed:

Nordstrom signage is up on the north-east corner of the store, facing Yonge-Dundas Square. For a shop set to open in just under 7 months, this place is beginning to look pretty polished.

Instead of Fall 2016, now the flag says it is slated to open on Sept 18, 2016.

As many of you know, Nordstrom Eaton Centre's pre-opening gala was Wednesday. I was there - thought it was a bit chaotic as the associates were still a little bit on the "green" side of things. However, I still had a great time. Selection is pretty good, though most of the brands are available elsewhere. However, there were some brands they had in petite sizes I couldn't find in other stores. Customer service is excellent - as you can see in the next-to-last paragraph of my post!

Another good article in Retail Insider about Nordstrom's opening day, although they use the tired and asinine "Canada’s answer to Times Square in New York City" description of Yonge Dundas Square.

I hate the comparison not because it wasn't what yonge and dundas was going for but by how far they royally missed the mark.

When the square was planned, Time Square was often used as a reference to describe the billboard-heavy surroundings. But like "megacity" and the like, it's a tired reference that hasn't aged well.
