With the recently completed Qualico Park and with this one, Warehouse, Beaver Hills, and the proposed park for ICE II -- all potentially differentiated somewhat one from the other, Edmonton is certainly providing well for downtown on the R & R side of things. It would be cool if they could all be linked by an ornate pedestrian walking path that adds in the Legislature Grounds, the park abutting the Macdonald (too lazy to look up the name) and the one in the Quarters on 96th Street. It gives more impetus in my mind for converting 102nd Avenue into a pedestrian/wheelie thoroughfare and the idea that I had for a pedestrian/wheelie bridge over 109th Street so we could add the rail-town linear park , Kitchener park, and Paul Kane park into the mix. 102nd could be the decorative spine with prospects for lots of Retail and Hospitality along its length. Think I'll construct a little demonstration map! and stick it on the "Downtown" thread.
