One thing that stands out so much to me, is how few trees there were in Calgary back then.
The tree canopy in this city is quite impressive when you see how few trees used to grow here. One of the interesting places here to see that is Reader Rock Garden, a very lush garden with pictures of the grass hill that stood there before.
 
I've never seen this one before. An old pic of some brothels along Nose Creek in 1911. The location is just behind where Telus Spark currently is.
