On a similar note: Epic Food Hall has shut down at station park. They’ll have to get creative to fit the ol’ cannabis store/daycare/pharmacy combo in there since it was purpose built as a food hall lol
The concept never appealed to me that much, and I wonder if others in Edmonton felt similar. Maybe I was being unreasonable, but I just didn't get the point of having multiple restaurants with different cuisines being owned by the same group. I'd love to see multiple restaurants with different owners in there, or something like a bar like @Tropical suggested. Something that feels unique because of its local ownership, cuisine, or experience, rather than simply claiming to stand out because there are five vendors with specific cuisines that are all owned by the same group. They very well could have had very talented hired chefs who are very well suited for the theme of their given restaurant, but I just wasn't confident about a Mexican restaurant, Italian restaurant, burger shop, Asian fusion place, and chop house & charcuterie all having the same ownership.

Agreed, I think they even had the same font for the signage on each counter. I went once to try it out and it wasn't bad, but I never went back.

I went once with some out of town guests, it was during the fringe and the streets were packed. We went up, and took a look. We were the only ones in there, and my guests suggested we go somewhere that wasn't so dead and we left lol. I never got to try it out! Definitely seemed like a cool space with potential.

Wasn't that their original concept, more or less? (When it existed as the "Fifth Street Food Hall"?) I thought I recall each menu being the creation of a third party chef like Lindsay Porter and Winnie Chen. I'm not sure if that really carried over to their new location. For one reason or another, I never gave their Station Park concept a shot.

I did, but found it without atmosphere or energy that food hall MUST have to be interesting and memorable.

30% food
30% look
40% feel

That is too bad about the layout of the Ritchie hub, but that seems to be a reoccurring theme for Edmonton. Build an Entertainment District, get a banking District.
Hopefully with luck the three little spaces that are there we'll get some nice little businesses that will hopefully attract some pedestrian traffic. And at least there is the one Pub between the dental clinic and the daycare.

Still not sure why there is so much demand for dental clinics and banking here as opposed to entertainment and food. Do people in Edmonton not eat and want to be entertained too?

I imagine visitors must find us an odd place.

Do Edmontonians have notably better teeth than people in other cities?
I know you are joking but yes.

Bibo has also closed. Only open for private events.
Wow, it seems like they weren't even open that long either. Hopefully Brad's restaurant in McCauley can do well - not sure what else he has on the go since Culina2Go at OEX is also closed now.
