From The Regional Group's project website:
Greystone Village is a 26-acre mixed-use, LEED® ND v4 SILVER Certified, master-planned community inspired by the site’s 100-year-old history and the vibrant existing community which surrounds it. Situated adjacent to the Rideau River, the site has abundant waterfront access and views and is a short walk to the Rideau Canal, a designated UNESCO world heritage site. The site was acquired from the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, in 2014.
In the heart of Ottawa’s existing Old Ottawa East neighbourhood, the Oblate Lands is one of the largest remaining infill sites centred around the Edifice Deschâtelets Scholasticate Monastery, a heritage building, and home to the Fathers of the Oblate Order. The site had become an important part of the surrounding community, providing green space, local community gardens, and views of the Rideau River.
