Our builder is saying that they have hired a independent company to conduct PDI along with Purchasers. Mine is scheduled to happen sometime in September this year. Being an absolute rookie at this - of-course i have stored a checklist from Tarion's site but i am wondering that would it be reasonable to think PDI conducted by the builder's contracted company could be biased or is it a good thing that its contracted to the folks who do this for a living so i wont be dealing with a customer service rep instead.

My intent is only to ensure that being new to this, i dont want to miss out on any fine details. What would be the best way to deal with this situation. Is it worth it to hire a home inspector for a PDI for new condo and could the builder have any issues with that ? My builder is Monarch so i dont expect them to cut too many corners given their reputation but what if i miss some items in PDI ?

Any experience that any one can share would be great.

Thank You

Don't forget after you move in you also have your 30-day form to report other defects.
