The high-speed walkway was cordoned off and not working when I passed through last month.

Who cares, really? If you're that late for your plane will a few seconds in the passing lane make much difference?

I just wanna feel the wind whipping past my boarding pass.

"boarding pass" - is that Cockney rhyming slang?

"apples and pears" = stairs
"ginger beer" = queer
"trouble and strife" = wife

"boarding pass" = ????

...
Pardon my gas!
Just passed the gas!
Lots of gas!

Okay, just to confirm the status of the High Speed Moving Walkways in Pier F:

As of Sunday, December 3rd, 2007, the walkways were still

INOPERABLE.

How long is it going to take to get these suckers operating? The ends of the walkways were opened up a bit, showing that they have some modifications they have to make. Have they hired kids to do this?

Thanks for the update, interchange.

I'm standing by my prediction that if they are in fact the same technology as was used on the Paris Metro (as the GTAA has said it is), then they will never be up and running for public use.

And if somehow it does start operation, they will be removed from service within a year.

Well, I give them 8 more weeks to get it running, and by golly if it isn't running by early February, I shall shake my fist in their general direction. On Feb 9, I wanna feel that wind!

i walked past the high speed walkway last night and it is still not in operation. man that thing is long,! i had no idea

I continue to be amazed with the Singapore airport ( which I wish we could duplicate). This time it took a little longer to get through the airport and out the door. It took 17 minutes. I was delayed a little since my luggage was one of the last out the door, then I got stuck behind a thai person (with work papers) - so they checked those persons papers thoroughly. Even with all these extra delays - it only took 17 minutes.

Nice pics! I assume you were flying out to HKG on one of AC's 777-200LRs?

Never been to Hammerhead F in person yet, only Pier F where United Airlines' flights depart out of. Though, I've looked through the glass at the end of the Pier into the Hammerhead many times.

I think I was. The plane I was on had a new cabin interior. Every seat had laptop and USB power outlets, as well as an updated entertainment screen. I was also impressed that the cabin lights changed colours depending on the time. The only complaint I had about the plane was that my economy seat didn't have enough leg room... and the food was bad.
