I've just been told a plumber's strike began May 2nd. Any idea how long this will last as it will start to affect completion dates. Frankly I'm surprised there haven't been more strikes given the trades have us over the barrell.

There is also a roofer strike, and I believe talk of an elevator mechanic strike.

Anyone know what these groups' grievances are, generally speaking? Just pay? Or other things? Do these strikes seem mostly 'legitimate', or more opportunistic?

a

it said in the star they are complaining over high parking costs...

The plumbers want the parking to be paid by the company because my friend who is a plumber and worked on citiyplace a couple of years ago said they pay over 3 thousand a year for parking.

I bet there are lots of people who'd love to go on strike about parking costs - but can't.

LoL!^
