This video clip turned up in my X timeline:

I don't know when Carney made these comments, but I found them shocking. According to Carney, thanks to Emperor Donald Trump's trade war with Canada, our GDP has shrunk by 1.8%! Carney says that amounts to $50 billion, or $1,300 per resident of Canada, and of course, we are still bleeding out.

I try every day to scan the headlines of the major Canadian newspapers and news sources, and I don't recall seeing recently any headlines announcing this ominous news for Canada. Carney admitted that thanks to Emperor Trump, almost 2% of our GDP has been WIPED OUT! Why isn't everyone's hair on fire?

WHY ISN'T THIS HEADLINE NEWS?

To put this into perspective, 2% of our GDP represents our military budget, which Emperor Trump has long bitched we are not spending enough (on American-made arms). According to Emperor Trump, Canada should be spending 5% of its GDP. Of course, gutless coward Mark Carney ceded to Emperor Trump's demands and has committed to spending 5% of our GDP on defense, mostly on American-made arms. Carney "folded like a cheap suit". For reference, the US spends 3.3% of its GDP on defense, and it has 700 military bases around the world!

At the same time that Carney acknowledges the massive damage that Emperor Trump has inflicted on our economy, Carney is doing NOTHING to retaliate. I could list a dozen things that Canada could do to retaliate against Emperor Trump - it is not like we don't have any cards - Canada is the biggest buyer of US goods and services. We are by far America's best customers, and yet despite this, Carney does NOTHING as the Pedo-POTUS Emperor Donald Trump sh*ts on us and continues to destroy our way of living. How can we consider the United States under Trump an "ally" at this point? WAKE UP, CANADA!

How do we explain Carney's total failure to fight back FOR CANADA? Carney has done NOTHING to fight back against Emperor Trump. Doug Ford has made some ham-fisted attempts. His best attempt was the Ronald Regan ad for which Mark Carney quickly apologized to Emperor Trump. Carney's groveling apology to the Pedo-POTUS was the most disgusting and shameful performance by any Canadian PM in Canadian history. Does Emperor Trump have kompromat on Carney? Let's not forget they were mutual friends with a "very proper" British Lady named Ghislaine, who turned out to be very much less than proper! She turned out to be a MONSTER! (Why is this ignored by the Canadian media?).

Despite all of the above, there is absolutely no discussion of this in the Canadian media or even on online forums like this. We are just supposed to submit to the whims of Pedo-POTUS Emperor Donald Trump. We must not say anything that might upset "The Donald" lest the deranged sick-f*ck decides to inflict more punishment on us. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DON'T STAND UP TO A BULLY!

Canada's relationship with the United States under Trump is akin to battered wife syndrome. The more Trump batters our economy, the more Carney begs for forgiveness.

How many of you are OK with this? I'm not.

Personally, I'd love to see an extreme tax jump and a cut to non-canadian or otherwise non-essential spending.

Use the increased revenue it pay down the debt rather than spend it on foreign affairs or pet projects.

There literally is no dealing with Trump's USA. You could put words on paper, but they are meaningless because Trump does not feel bound by them.
Even so, we must prepare for these so called poison pills. Ideally the Republicans get smoked in Nov 2026 and Congress reassumes its constitutional role of running foreign trade. I looks like Malaysia is expressing regrets after accepting Trump’s demands. Let’s hope Carney learns from this example and does not paint Canada into a corner.

And while we’re at it, let’s stop the US government from acquiring shares in Canadian resource projects. SMH.

It's budget vote day. The Conservatives and the Bloc have made it clear they will vote against the budget, although it's not clear if the whole Conservative caucus will show up to the vote as they didn't the last two votes. 4 out of 7 NDP MPs are expected to vote against including leadership candidate Heather McPherson, while it's expected that BC MP Gord Johns and interim leader Don Davies will abstain on the budget due to getting some stuff for their ridings. Elizabeth May says she is working with the government so that she can vote for it.

A second 2025 national election might be the kill shot for the NDP.

Yes, I do not think there is as national appetite for an election right now.

Apparently for it happen by the normal process, the possible dates would put it between December 24 and January 8. Even less appetizing to have it on Christmas before dinner.
