If they'll be shutting down, it won't be because of society moving on from casino gaming; it'll be because of casino gaming moving on-line. Same fate that's befallen dead tree newspapers and bricks-and-mortar retail. (Indeed, a lot of Ontario's casino slots exist because society moved on from betting on the horses--they're cash cows for what would otherwise be dinosaur operations.)

Incidentally, never mind Las Vegas; if you want to reflect on the mixed urban blessings of casinos (and their irrationality in "prime waterfront locations"), consider Atlantic City.

Because she likes to, and she wants to. If she stayed idle, she probably wouldn't be around today.

That said, I can see DoFo being stupidly oblivious to the fact of her age. Sort of like having a 97-year-old grandpa drive your kids to school because he drove you to school 30 or 40 years ago (insert Prince Philip comments here)

Leaked draft legislation from the government suggests possible, partial, privatization of aspects of healthcare delivery in Ontario.

Also suggests selling medical data.

I'm extremely leery.

However, I will reserved detailed judgement after getting to read the draft bill myself, as as hearing gov't reaction to the leak.

Can I say right now, the NDP is annoying me.........they have this draft bill, but did not put online in anyway. They called a press conference (now over) but having nothing about this on their website or FB accts.

Also Horvath did not seem fully up on the bill, she stumbled a lot with questions.

Every party, before calling a damn presser should organized, ready to distribute material, and have their leader/spokesperson immersed in the material.

Sigh.

Going after health care seems like a very dumb idea. I mean, every federal party is basically in agreement on the issue.

You miss Wynne? I gusss Wynne was okay, but this government has some ridiculous stuff, a good majority which is provided by the news media, such as CP2Ford.
 
But on the plus side, we’ll be paying interest on all the debt Wynne incurred for the rest of our lives, so it’ll be as if she never left. Just like Mulroney.
 
My problem with Wynne is that she should have had the self-awareness to realize people dislike you and you are in the way of progressive governance in Ontario. One of the major flaws of progressive politicians is many of them fall into the trap of 'people will like me because I am morally right'.

Like what is the Legacy of Wynne, tens of billions of dollars of extra debt for 7 liberal seats?
 
I actually commend the government for reviewing healthcare delivery and all day kindergarten.

Health and education are the largest by far files the Provincial government is responsible for. They should be continuously under review and no program or status quo process or organization within should be exempt.

The healthcare and education public versus private debate is so loaded with group think nonesense it’s dumber than buck-a-beer. Like for instance is the holy Grail public healthcare system we are guarding against the evils of privatization even really a public health care system? I would characterize it as a non-patient centred, limited publicly insured private system, operating within a convoluted and archaic government regulatory framework.

The problem is these assholes have yet to show there is any 'thought' to any of their moves.

They just do fake 'consultations' and then slash and burn with no real reason other then to reduce costs.

There is no methodology.

The logical thing to do was for SK to be full day, while leaving JK as half day. That's what happens when politics get involved. although Ford may have released this as a trial balloon, because I think it would be political suicide at this point in time.
so now that $1.5B expense per year means that DRL and other infrastructure spending gets delayed. I suppose that what people wanted.
