Another court loss for the Ford government.
The Ontario government's appeal to keep Premier Doug Ford's mandate letters to his cabinet ministers secret was dismissed by the province's top court on Friday.
Mandate letters traditionally lay out the marching orders a premier has for each of his or her ministers after taking office — and have been routinely made public by governments across the country.
Ford's government has been fighting to keep his mandate letters from the public since shortly after the premier took office three-and-a-half years ago. In July 2018, CBC News first requested a copy of the 23 letters through an access-to- information request, which was denied under an exemption for cabinet records.

Maybe the public is so inured to the idiocy of the Fords that it simply isn't newsworthy enough. Pile crap higher and it still smells the same.

Yeah, that's federal. But provincial's more immediate (both chronologically, and in relationship to his FIL).
I seriously think he's the power behind Krista's turn t/w White Christian Nationalism--Doug may be a dirtbag, but he might be realizing that he bit off more than he could chew in chumming up w/*this* crowd...

Is there no thread to discuss this stupid trucker convoy? I'm all for peaceful protests and I understand people are fed up, but I really cant stand seeing Confederate and Nazi flags flown at our capital.
It’s being discussed in the COVID thread because it is purportedly about public health measures related to the pandemic. But it crosses threads because one would expect our premier to respond.

A protest is happening in Ontario where numerous events are being denounced. Here is what Doug managed to tweet about. Oh, and he sends kids to school with high COVID numbers, minimal if any testing, and he meets with them virtually.
