Has anybody ever bought a model home (or condo) with furniture?

Do the builders typically own the furniture they put in the model home or do they lease it from somewhere?

How do you go about negotiating the purchase price with furniture?

I suspect that some builders, like some real estate agents, have a small warehouse full of cheap model home furniture somewhere. (That said, there are actually companies that rent furniture for staging but they aren't cheap.) Before I would buy, I would peruse IKEA, Pier One and other furniture stores online and see what goes for what.
