I don't remember if I was ever inside one of them as a kid, but there were a lot of them at some point in the 1970s, with a former one in Mississauga being the only building left in that recognizable form that I've seen in recent decades.

Red Barn was across the street along Rexdale Boulevard. It was a standalone restaurant that, if memory serves me correctly, became Harveys and then a Money Mart/Cash Converters.

The one restaurant that existed in the Rexdale Mall back in the 70's was the Rexdale Tavern, which relocated to the side entrance and became Catalina.
 
As someone who misses going to the Zellers at Rexdale Plaza, I wish they'd tear the old Zellers building down.
It looks like a Flea Market now; and not a good one at that.
