So, back to some (hopefully not too distasteful) speculation re: the supposed sex tape. This may all be grasping at straws, but...

Does anyone remember back in May, in the midst of the crack story breaking, the news about a body in garbage bag that was pulled up from the harbour?

In Aug, the body was confirmed to be that of the missing 21-yo Kasandra Bolduc, a recent transplant from Elliot Lake to Toronto:
http://www.thestar.com/news/crime/2...e_woman_pulled_from_lake_still_a_mystery.html

According to the article, Bolduc had not been heard from since her last FB update on Nov 9th, 2012 (I think, earlier in the thread, there were speculations that the Ford-Smith / 15 Windsor photo, and the crack video, was taken around that time?). Her family officially reported to police on Feb 13th that she was missing (four days after the Benway Dr case, but I can't see how these would be related). Importantly,
But Watts said Bolduc got addicted to crack, causing her to lose custody of her daughter — something she spoke of openly online.
and
“At first, she was telling me that she loved it,†Watts said of Bolduc’s life in Toronto. Now, it appears she may have been mixed up in the drug scene or sex trade.
The case seems to have gone cold since the body ID.

Again, this is all just wild speculation and could be completely unrelated. I suppose, if it were truly related and the police did just get their hands on the vids, connections would eventually be made and we would know soon enough.

I'm sorry, but I have to say this: Norm Kelly is a *********** . What do you mean he's OK with Ford staying on? To quote from my fav film, "Is this some white c**** joke that us black c**** don't get?".

Seems very clear to me: he steps in because Ford needs to Gtfo yesterday. Though, apparently, he's not worthy either. What a joke.

Well, Norm Kelly is Rob's deputy mayor. Without him in office, Kelly's job becomes a lot less clear.

Unfortunately, I've had to deal with Norm Kelly on and off for over 35 years. He is a career politician, ran provincially years ago, useless then, useless now. Looks out for Norm, that's why Rob likes him, he's a yes man like Mammoliti. First time I met him, I was around 18 and I remember thinking "what a jerk". Nothing has changed.

Ha, true. But after the rumours here yesterday about the 3 options the Exec gave Ford, it's pretty shocking to think that what they ACTUALLY told him was, "We'll support you if you say you were really sorry and won't do it again." That's so weak, it's outright pathetic.

As for the timing of the release of the security report, yes, it was a previously denied FOI. The Star addressed the timing:
"On Friday, the day after Police Chief Bill Blair announced the service had obtained a video of the mayor appearing to smoke crack cocaine, city officials abruptly “reconsidered,” according to a letter that accompanied its release."

I've half a mind to call Norman's office and ream him out for being soft, but knowing myself, it'd probably end up bordering on criminal harassment. I just came back from a three week holiday but feel I need another. These people make me sick.

Well, I didn't watch or listen to it live, I checked the recaps to get the gist, I'll get the podcast later to compare things and possible biases.

I must say that the Fords' passive/aggressive script (kudos to who writes them), I am sure will do the job for the hopelessly fundamental dogmatists searching for fairytales to be true, and protect them from the evil "communists", "socialists", "lefties", or anything that their heterophobic existences cannot tolerate.

Of course my applause goes out the apology that is not an apology, what genius! I'm sorry, I don't know for what, but I will find something and insert it at the proper time, showing cantor at the proper time when my nation is floundering.

"I have sinned against You, my Lord, and I would ask that Your Precious Blood would wash and cleanse every stain until it is in the seas of God's forgetfulness, not to be remembered against me anymore." Jimmy Swaggart

Sounds familiar, if not in word, but surly in intent.

---

And lastly for now, until I listen to the podcast... I'm sure the enabled is the one to judge whom is the enabler, especially within a co-dependant relationship.

Is there a demonstration planned? Ford mentions early in the broadcast that it is because of his supporters he can survive. We need to make like Ukraine and send a message that his support is much less than thought. We have CBC running a story still that his support is UP. Well I don't believe that. Reporters go to Etobicoke Tim Horton's and ask people likely to support Ford if they support Ford, and get the answer they want. We need to fill Nathan Phillips Square for as many days as it takes to send the message loud and clear. Is anything planned? If not, why don't we start planning it.

I slept in today (late night), just caught up on all this and in the meantime have seen CNN cover the Ford story twice so far.

There was something planned for this morning. I don't know if it materialized. It would have been far better to go to 1010 to greet Ford before and after the radio show today. Weekdays at NPS makes sense. (Although Ford will just say that his supporters are too busy working to show up and support him.)

As expected, Michael Thompson is done with Rob Ford. A member of his staff told me yesterday that the executive committee decided that Ford had 3 options and all 3 involved the Mayor's term ending immediately. The most appealing for Ford (to quit on the condition that City Council vote to have a by-election rather than appoint his replacement) fell on deaf ears. He ignored all 3.

I expect Michael Thompson will be amongst several resigning from the executive committee as early as Monday. Minan-Wong, Milczyn, Shiner, Crawford and Perruzza are good bets too.
