Yup, and Louis Vuitton bags for her and the girls too. Very difficult to find one of those for less than $1000.

It's like Doug read the syllabus for a marketing course and now thinks he's got targeting nailed. Their only hope is a particular vote segment so ALL OF A SUDDEN, OUT OF THE BLUE, the Fords are un-elite churchgoing scenemakers.

We're on to you, guys.

Please, media. Address this angle?

+1

I really wish someone would call Doug out on the whole 'regular folks' anti-elite charade.

Doug and Karla's near-total inability to refrain from preening and bigging themselves up is probably blowing a hole in that image, but it's not enough.

I'm not gonna get into an argument here....but take a look at her Instagram link again. One of her own contacts asks how much she's charging him.....joke or not....the suspicion is there. That's all it was for me also...suspicion!

Anyone can post a comment on an Instagram photo. So any douchebag could post that there.

It seems to me that the Ford's are falling down the Jersey Shore/Fashionista hole thinking if you aren't skinny, provocatively dressed and pretending that you are rich that you just aren't worthy of being pandered too... oh yeah... I also forgot a "Gangsta" looking sort on that list... they kind of all intersect at the same social media juncture.

Skinny?

If you take a look at her Instagram pix and the hashtags she uses, you will see that she works for event promotion company Redline Toronto. Guess who threw that party that all the Ford brothers went to last week? That's right, Redline Toronto. Here's Basil Russo, owner of Redline Toronto with Rob Ford: http://instagram.com/p/kXTOmjFGO_#

I'm not going to speculate as to whether or not the woman pictured with Ford on Valentine's Day is an escort, but she is some form of professional party girl. Given the context (Ford), it is worth noting that she showed up at Harbour60.

You can only *speculate* that she works for Redline since she hasn't exactly said as much, but it does seem likely. Found her Facebook and there's nothing unusual about it.

BTW: 'Event promoters' are a real thing. People who are popular and get people out to events. I've known quite a few event promoters, men and women. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of sex when you work in the nightlife biz, but no one is paying for it. Unless you count all the free drinks promo girls get bought.

Anyhow, it's better not to speculate on what this poor random girl does. You don't know her and she's barely tangentially relevant to the Ford thing, she was only photographed with him, just like hundreds of other people have been recently. Witchhunts are bad, bad.

I don't use Instagram. Someone told me only acknowledged contacts can post comments to ones pics??

But I digress.

Someone did some research on redline productions and such. Kinda reminds me of the Alanna storyline?

Don't jump on me for being inquisitive:)

I'm neither speculating nor engaging in a witch hunt. I don't think we should assume that people are escorts, and I haven't done that. All I have done is state the known facts. If you have an issue with that, you must be reading something else into what I wrote.

Well, I suppose I was speaking in general instead of aiming that particular bit directly at you.

Whatever one might say about the campaign, the Ford's messaging since the election has been a mess even before the crack scandal. There is nothing to be learned from it. While every sensible person in the city is right to think Ford's approval rating should be 0%, the simple fact is that Ford's approval rating has been terrible for a mayor since long before the crack video, and the 40% Forum numbers are themselves highly suspect. I don't understand the concern about trying to appeal to the 20-30% in this city who still want this idiot mayor. Focus on the other 70-80%. This is a city that elected David Miller twice. You don't need to be the lowest common denominator to win.

And I think this is especially true for 2014. Change is important. Think Obama after Bush.

+1.

I think there is enough information in that photo to get a judgement in the ballpark but I agree, not the appropriate conversation. The most telling detail is the mayors business card stuffed in the bra/shirt combo. Very classy for all involved.

He is now pandering to people who have scarface posters in their bedrooms and think he's gangster. It sickening.

He probably didn't buy a new suit after he lost weight. And it probably didn't fit all that well when he bought it.

I actually think he's getting new suits and wider necked shirts that are purposely over-sized to further the losing weight story. Tom (of Tom's Place) dropped by his office not all that long ago, I can only guess for a fitting, and I honestly can't see that he's lost any more than maybe 20lbs. there is no way he's lost the 40 he claims.

Good recall!:) When I first heard about Tom's visit I couldn't figure out what business he might have with Ford. Duh.

Don't know about the suits, but wider necked shirts were badly needed!!
