I'm definitely starting to think Ford is crazy enough to kill someone or have them killed!

Reminds me of the Army shrink who asked the draftee, "Do you think you can kill?"

"I don't know about strangers, but friends, yes." :D

But you have to admit that Dash Domi was a much better shadowy figure than Sandro Lisi.

A colleague who doesn't read UT arrived at the same conclusion as most here, that this whole "rehab" business is a campaign tactic to get RoFo out of action for a while and then bring him back closer to the election "clean and sober", "got professional help", and "ready to lead". He thinks that this could pay off if enough voters who still might vote for him are willing to give him another chance, especially if no new candidates enter the race. It'll be all "I got the help I needed, I've confronted my alcohol problems, I'm ready to win the election and I've got a proven record, unlike the rest of them".

I'd be inclined to agree BUT I really don't think that once RoFo is back in Toronto, hanging with the same friends and a family that enables him, he will be able to maintain his sobriety (assuming he achieves it in the first place). If Robbie followed Doug's advice, and limited his substance abuse to his and Kathy's basement, he might be able to get away undetected. I think that is highly unlikely though. My money is on it being a matter of weeks after his return that the stories and drunken mayor selfies start up again.*

*unless Doug or Mikey are enlisted to be full time babysitters, 24/7. I wish them luck with that though.

Drug Ford's words on Twitter...

Favourite if you stand behind @TOMayorFord during this difficult time, RT if you're heartless and want to see him FAIL. #TOpoli

The Ford campaign doesn't put much stock into this recent poll. I suspect Rob's approval rating will be 70%+ once he returns to office!

This is a fake account.

And I agree with your colleague. This tactic will not work. Ford is really toast now, and so is his brother.

Isn't that a parody account?

Yes. He or she does not generally try for humour (and when he or she does the rate of success is not great) but, rather, concentrates on putting out statements in effect condemning Doug Jr out of "his own" mouth as a racist, misogynist, boor, etc., etc. He or she puts quite a bit of effort into trying to fool readers who do not look too closely (e.g., using City of Toronto letterhead, but with "Doug Ford, Councillor" changed to "Doug Ford, Mayor's Brother").

I think that the same person has been behind earlier variations of the same parody account that have been suspended by Twitter - including one that sucked DMW in big time.

My memory may be faulty, but doesn't DECO have its US operations in Chicago? He's probably just going to go hide out at someone's house for a couple of weeks.

If Kathy is seen on video smoking crack, that has to put to bed the theory that her and Sandro are working with police. Occam's Razor applies again: The Ford's and their cronies are just plain stupid and high enough to be caught on video yet again.[/QUOTE
The interesting things about these videos of the Fords during their "private time" is that you see 30 yrs. of behaviour and attitude whittled down by the razor skills of technologies. These Fords are too stupid and wasted to notice.

The main change in last 30 years is, crack replaced hash, in the pipe being smoked.

I agree. The only way that they have any chance of making it work is if they keep him basically under guard 24/7 to prevent yet another repeat of the same behaviour. Maybe they'll keep him out long enough to return close to the election to minimize the chances of another public spectacle of drunkenness, selfies and rants happening before the vote. Success depends on whether he'd go along with a plan like that. I think he'd fall off the wagon pretty quickly if he's not strictly supervised by Doug.

From the Star article:
Ford repeatedly used the n-word to refer to the drug dealer, and described former Toronto Community Housing boss Eugene Jones, whom he supports, with the same word, the man alleged.
“No n----- gets fired in my town. When I get re-elected that n----- is going to be back in charge,†Ford said, according to the dealer’s account of the night.

gawd, he thinks he's Drake or something.
Ford Nation will definitely say he's using the n-word in a "supportive" way, and how come rappers can do it and no one gets mad, etc.

But that word still gets more of a reaction than other words (wop, etc) -- certainly more than "f*ing minorities" would. Too bad about the audio not working; a soundclip of Rob saying the n-word (in any context) would jolt a lot of people.

There is a guy in Los Angeles that lost his nearly Billion dollar NBA franchise for saying "a bit" less...

still can't believe that the toronto media and political class isn't explicitly linking this to the fact that these people are not actually from toronto, but rather from the suburbs; that the people who vote for them are not from toronto but, again, from the suburbs, and that this entire globally-covered humiliation is basically a product of mike harris' bizarre "let's append a bunch of suburbs onto toronto to dilute its power and prestige" plan. like, this is a straight line and it strikes me as odd that normal people aren't thinking that this whole shit-show doesn't just demonstrate that there is a real values divide between some of these peripherals and the adults.

With all due respect, I grew up in the borough then City of York pre-amalgamation. Our address was never "York" and always Toronto. I NEVER considered myself anything other than a Torontonian. Same with my Etobicoke friends. My Scarborough friends were a little different. In any case, especially today, perpetuating this "we-they" by central Torontonians is anything but helpful.

If the post was meant sarcastically, my apologies I didn't read it that way.
