Toronto mayor fails to delay audit hearing

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford has failed to postpone a long-awaited court hearing to determine whether the city will audit his campaign books.

The mayor's lawyer was in court Wednesday asking for the case to be pushed back from mid-April to at least November while a higher court considers an appeal in a similar case.

City council's compliance audit committee last year ordered a forensic review of Ford's 2010 election finances after two Toronto residents filed a complaint.

Adam Chaleff-Freudenthaler and Max Reed allege Ford broke election rules by using his family's company to pay for tens of thousands in expenses. Ford has denied any wrongdoing.

Ford challenged the committee's decision, but court earlier denied his request for a brand new hearing with fresh evidence.

Now Ford's lawyer is leaving the door open to a last-minute appeal of that decision, which would effectively put the case on hold.

A lawyer representing the city says any further delay would undermine the process and go against public interest.

The show is called The City which means it can be hosted by any number of councillors. Obviously the station took the Fords up on hosting the show because they knew the controversy and ratings. I am sure as time goes on there will be other hosts. The show was not Matlow's show

The quote/post someone posted about Matlow being jealous because the Fords had replaced Matlow on hosting The City. I could not reply with quote but if you are reading the posts would you not have remembered reading ford had said this? Its only going back a couple of pages. Plenty of times i read posts and need to go back to see what the original quote/post was if its been a number of days or week that I have not read the posts
 
I seriously want to know where those two Fords get their drugs from. You know, for those days when I feel like completely losing my mind and showing up to work tripping complete balls.

And damn.....he did say they took over his (Matlow's) radio station. Cut me a line of what you two are having and pass the rolled up transfer, thankyouverymuch, Mr Ford!

If anyone had been following along, you'd know he was making a statement regarding something Doug Ford was quoted as saying a few posts above his, so I don't see why it was mandatory he quote it for anyone to understand the nature of his statement. Seems like a rather minor faux pas to be called out on by a mod.
