Given the number of times he dropped out of first-year university ... yes, it is likely too much to expect. Rob Ford is clearly of significantly below average intelligence.

And a Political Science course at that. He said he dropped out because of family problems, but since we can't see his marks he was getting...

Intelligence (which form, exactly?) isn't necessarily everything.
No. But the question being asked is whether he would pass a course. I think his frequent failure to pass courses in the past would reflect on his ability to pass a course. And I do think there might be some links between intelligence and the ability to pass a course.

Surely, the only way to achieve his desire to ship criminals out of Toronto, whether they are born here or not, is to declare ourselves an independent country, build a wall around the city, and show people out the gate when they are convicted of shoplifting.

How can any human being ever have voted for a man who is so profoundly stupid?

Don't give Rob any ideas, he may actually do them.

"Mayor Ford clarifies his comments" - see G & M at http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news...gun-criminals-and-immigration/article4429640/

This man gets to be more and more of an embarassment - if it weren't such a serious (and complex) matter this would make a good comedy routine.

In fact, Ford's adversarial friends over at The Toronto Star do indeed refer to his perplexing radio statements as "sounding at times like an "Abbott and Costello routine" - http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/cit...-little-clarity-on-exiling-gun-crime-convicts

k10:

Considering the latter's creative interpretation of parliamentary procedures, re: prorogue and opposition "coup", I am sure he is the best person to learn it from.

Yeah. But (unlike some other of our leaders) Harper is smart. He is NOT going to take a meeting with Ford to help him get out of this hole he dug.

Steve could tell Rob that he's at the cottage with family this weekend! Or that he and Naheed Nenshi are getting together to discuss the books of Margaret Atwood?

Rob Ford has at least enough political instincts to get himself elected and to keep a percentage of his FordNation fans hooked on his every word. He's a consummate election-mode politician. Intellectualism on its own can serve to alienate a pol from the voter base.

Indeed. The more you think about it, the more it looks bad on the Smitherman campaign. How could he not get more votes than this maroon?

And why does Ford keep talking about being "proactive" in setting up meetings with the Premier and the PM? He's clearly being reactive, talking nonsensically about crime and banishment only after a string of high profile murders in public areas (Eaton Centre, Little Italy, Danzig St.) .

"Proactive" sounds a helluvalot more aggressive and forward, don't it? The truth doesn't matter - it's the slogans he's fixated on. You know, like "hug a thug." That stuff plays to his fan base, big time.

Still, the mind boggles at how little Ford understands Canadian citizenship and the rights it confers.

Yeah. But (unlike some other of our leaders) Harper is smart. He is NOT going to take a meeting with Ford to help him get out of this hole he dug.

But he's also politically smart enough to know how to massage Ford's crude rudiments into something coherent that might, just might, salvage Ford in spite of himself...

Faced by a growing crime wave, Rob Ford reluctantly picks up the Princess phone, presses the large button in the middle, and makes an important phone call...

Will he get get Marg Delahunty, Princess Warrior, to be a guard around the Great Wall of Toronto?

Or could she be one of first banished?

Stay tuned, next week. Same Princess time, same Princess channel.

Watch out, citizens of Toronto. The mayor is driving a brand new Escalade.

Is it ironic that the Cadillac Escalade is often seen as the vehicle of choice for flashy gang bangers?
