MDMA's a better guess, but there's no eye shakes.

MDMA is a pretty heavy weight drug, and I can't see someone saying "you know what I need to do to get through this? Something that makes me sweat, shake, grind my teeth, dilate my pupils to the size of dinner saucers, and pretty much not be able to do anything but feel."

A couple of bumps, I'd be willing to believe. Xanax (if that's still a thing) or equivalent, I could definitely believe. Misuse of prescribed anti-anxiety drugs, sure. But some of the heavy illegal drugs I'm hearing just aren't credible, even for an addict, before facing those crowds.
