I didn't think ford would escape his earlier scandals, still a bit skeptical that this one will do him in. Too many people think all of the claims made against him are just leftist conspiracies.

Gawker just posted this article. Basically validates this whole thing. Gawker and their sister sites have been responsible for breaking many enormous scandals, including most recently the Manti Te'o controversy. As far as I'm concerned if Gawker is reporting on this, the story is legit.

Ford has better be working on his resignation letter. I can't see him escaping this.

That Gawker article was the one that broke the story a couple hours ago. The Star story is in response to it. Presumably the Star has been aware of the tape for a while.

Please do not donate money to this campaign. It is flexible funding meaning the person keeps the money even if it does not meet its goal. He does not say how he would get the video and we have no idea if the "6 figure price" is $100000 even.

I was going to point out the same thing. Seems very scammy to me.

Still, we need to see that video. Fingers crossed that Gawker will get it before the Fords do.

Or at least that the owner will show some integrity and release it to the public.

Even if he did sell it to Ford, there's nothing stopping him from going out and selling a copy to the media anyway. I'd think that Ford would have been the first person he approached.

My bad.

I remember during the last Ford cocaine scandal, some UT members were speculating that TO Star had evidence of Ford's drug use. I suppose this is it.

I'm assuming they have been. It would be pretty hard to track down and view the tape AFTER the Gawker article broke. Finding the guy, let alone arranging a meeting to view the tape, based on the Gawker article, sounds like it would be too big of an ordeal to undertake at the drop of a hat, and to have a Star article about it just a couple of hours later.

who is the hockey analyst the story refers to??

Nope. If the video clearly shows Ford smoking something that resembles cocaine he is gone for. No leftist conspiracy could make that up.

Do not donate

Somebody I know started a collection to help a woman who spent thousands on surgery for an abused foster ... and then he made off with it. We've had to re-raise the money.

I bet the Star's website crashes at midnight or whenever it posts the story. On Twitter they're syaing they did not pay for the tape so the intel about the cops having it must be true.

But if this is corroborated, I think it would blow all previous scandals out of the water. A conflict of interest over $2000 for high-school football? I can see how the general public might not get too riled up about that. But being a crackhead who associates with gangsters? That would have to be a bit harder to shrug off...

The Star article you're talking about is this:

The Toronto Star has seen the video in question.
Much more to come on thestar.com

Dosen't take to long to put together that "article"

What's significant about that is that they claim to have seen the video. That basically validates Gawker's claims.

I'm surprised CP24 and CBC haven't picked up on the story yet.

If this cracks open, Doug's out, too. Two for the price of one.

Seconded. This may be the best thing to happen to Mike Duffy all week. He may have just been let off the media hook...

Been watching the news tonight and lots of Mike Duffy......no Rob Ford (other than his casino presser).......is the Star the only local outlet carrying this?

That's what I mean. If they had no knowledge of the video prior to the Gawker article, tracking the video-holder down within a matter of hours (especially based on the ordeal Gawker went through) would be a tall task.

Hence, they must have seen it prior to the release of the Gawker article.
