if you wanna see it for yourself...

i can't seem to get a link straight to the video, but if you go here http://www.cp24.com/news/ford/ford-brothers-police-chief-set-for-budget-showdown-1.1584557 it's the next video, called "Mayor tours Dawes Road apartment building".

it's worth seeing... ford totally ignores her.

Here's the direct link, if anyone wants it (I had to use the search box to find it; CP24's site is horrible for making it so hard to get direct links):

As I had mentioned a couple of weeks ago, some members of Council were planning to deal with the Mayor's demand to keep the 2014 tax increase at 1.75 by calling his bluff and removing funding for the Scarborough Subway: http://joshmatlow.ca/images/pdfs/scarborough%20subway%20dec%202013.pdf
Ford either votes to increase taxes to fund the subway he likes to claim he "built" or he votes against the subway. He's going to have to own this increase.

Great! About time this tax-subway dichotomy was made clear to the large majority of the population who do not obsess over municipal politics.

  1. "We'll have to raise taxes more than the 1.75% Ford wants, because he didn't factor in the cost of the subway and we simply can't slash any more services without impacting..." etc. etc.
  2. "Scarborough deserves a subway! I built a subway, folks! Another promise made, another promise kept!"

Only one of these is a message which resonates positively with a low-information voter; in fact both of those messages will drive those voters towards Ford.

On the other hand, get Ford on the record choosing between his favourite ways of buying votes - the subway pipe-dream and the taxpayers nonsense - and you have a wedge...

Regarding Daniel Dale's sexuality: for what it's worth, one of my friends went on a couple of dates with him a few months ago. She's a girl.

Those apartment tours are a brilliant campaign move. He probably adds hundreds of new members to Ford Nation each new building he checks out. Plus, the positive media coverage. I bet he actually has no interest in finding a sustainable solution. Why would he when he can just keep making these campaign stops for years on end?

Anyone know how to check if these are apartment buildings that typically have polling stations in the lobby?

Christmas miracle? Mayor Rob Ford just invited media to Christmas party tonight at his mom's house #TOpoli pic.twitter.com/uyLlMYyFmX

Those reporters better be careful. Might not be enough to eat there. But there's more than enough at home.

Are you sure it's not the "Governor" in "The Little Whore House In Texas" (played by Charles Durning).

Does anyone recall the no longer existing POS homophobe Peter Worthington's scathing piece about Dale's "wimpy" behaviour during the incident. Yep...an entire column on nothing about how unmanly he was (as opposed to the he-man types at the Sun...like Worthington ha ha ha).

Yes, Worthington was a POS, and I hate Ford and love Dale...but honestly, even by Dale's own account of events, there was in his response a certain whiff of Dr. Zachary Smith (of Lost in Space fame).

Apologies to the younger readers who won't get that reference.

Mammoliti has already indicated that he plans to move a motion for no increase. Don't be surprised to see Rob Ford support it. Remember, he has voted against his budget chief's recommendations when he still had all the powers of office.
