MONTREAL — Bixi has filed for bankruptcy protection, but the city still hopes to operate the bike-sharing service on Montreal streets this year.

The city of Montreal, which controls the non-profit company, made the announcement Monday at a briefing for reporters.

yet another Rob Ford was right....

yet another cry for help from the troll.

anyway..."yet another Rob Ford was right"? i thought you were a supporter of this Rob Ford, not the other one. How many Ford's can one man love?

I see he's still around. I was on holiday and then tried to ignore any news of him upon my return. So much good that did. What am I, an ostrich?

I had an epiphany today.

At this point, trying to convince someone that Ford is less than awful is like trying to convince a Scientologist of... I don't know... anything sane. So don't bother.

Trying to convince a Scientologist that their 'religion' ISN'T actually a cross between a pyramid scheme and a bad sci-fi novel?

“That’s a cash grab if you ask me,” said Mayor Ford of the increased fines. “I’m still trying to figure out where that got buried.”

He also disagrees with towing for multiple unpaid tickets and instead will suggest at an upcoming council meeting that the city move to collect $3-million worth of unpaid parking tickets.

“I hate getting parking tickets, we all hate it, but we have to pay,” said Mayor Ford. “We can’t write off $3-million. So I am going to move that we do go out and collect. But to increase the fine and then tow away the car if you have three parking tickets? Sometimes if I get a parking ticket, I shelve it somewhere.”

Councillor Denzil Minnan-Wong, chair of the public works committee, will attend a news conference explaining the new regulations Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. in the members’ lounge at city hall. He said on Monday that “up until a few hours ago” Mayor Ford was slated to be part of the press conference, supporting the changes.

Doolittle and Dale have an article in today's Star about the emails. I can't post the link cause I'm on my way out so hopefully someone else can.
