All this talk of death and dying, sympathy vs empathy has me thinking that every contributor on this thread has a bit of evil in them.

Might I add, I like that in a person.

I have no shame saying I feel no sympathy. If I don't feel it, I don't. It has to come from within. Not sure it's evil though :).

Royson James:

"It didn’t take long for Toronto to tire of the mayor’s antics. We’ll never know for sure, now, but his time was clearly up — a comet burned out even as it appeared, wasted and used by a personal descent into debauchery and excess."

Ruthlessly critical of Doug. Uses a lot of past tense when it comes to Rob.

Shame, shame on all of you, all of us, everyone in TO who didn't support Rob.

Shame shame on you
Shame shame on you
Can you hold your head up high
Look your friends right in the eye
No you can't shame on you

Spade Cooley.

( Anybody ever hear of him? He was a great musician, but a baaaad husband and father. )

I said Doug, don't you ever crave
To appear on the front of the Red Star
Dressed in your Mother's bridal veil ?
Oh ...
And so, I checked all the registered historical facts
And I was shocked into shame to discover
How I'm the 18th pale descendant
Of some old queen or other

I expect nothing less than PM Harper himself performing "Candle in The Wind" at the televised, national service.

Goodbye Robert Ford
Though we knew you but all too well
You had the sense to smoke your crack
In your dingy basement hell
You got baked with the Bassos
And you shouted to all who came
That it was just a setup
And you made Mike change his name

And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a rhino on the loose
Never knowing who to trample
Or who you should use
And we wouldn't have liked to know you
When you were just a kid
Your family screwed you long before
The media ever did

Celebrity was fun
The only role you ever played
Toronto created a superstar
And pain was the price we paid
And even if you die
Oh the press will still hound you
Except for Joe Warmington
Who'll insist on one more scoop

Goodbye Mr. Jones
From the morons living in the 2nd Ward
Who see you as something more than political
More than just our Mayor Ford

OMG, that is fantastic. As a lightweight snark merchant posting 2700km away from the Big Smoke, it's a relief to be only 2nd (or 3rd or 4th if one or two ppl reply while I'm composing this) to offer my praise. That kind of stuff is why I am pretty sure that reading this thread is a healthy habit, not an unhealthy addiction.

Animatronic does it again :D

Now every time I try to fall asleep tonight I'm going to wake up laughing, singing "and you made Mike change his name"

Sooooooo funny

A+ lyrics, with triple gold star fridge magnets stickers for you. However it does bring us to another dilemma. Classical piano, or electric rock style guitar for the musical style accompaniment? As a heads up, I'm personally voting no to EDM style. I'm saying yes unofficially for the underground bootleg reggae remix that will soon follow.

Yes. Scarberian deserves some love too, for suggesting the song and the Harper piece. I am happily stunned by the speed of the spontaneous interwebz collaboration.
