Don Peat is basically reporting Karla being Jewish as fact...did anyone find their wedding announcement yet?

Exactly.could be, but any practice of the religion would be over a hundred years ago which makes Doug's claim a little, disingenuous. Kind of like over coffee this morning Karla said something about my great grandmother was Jewish and he was like "why didn't you tell me that last night!"
1 person of interest in custody. 2 victims deceased. Rumoured fight started at Don Boscoe.

He is linking to a Shawn Jeffords story where Doug claims his wife is Jewish. It just reports what he said.
Ford dismissed the criticisms of his remarks about his "Jewish doctor, Jewish lawyer and Jewish accountant” adding that no one was more upset than his wife Karla, who is Jewish. Ford also slammed the political attacks that followed, specifically from the Tory campaign

A Marko family web site says the Marko family were: "Carpatho-Rusyns (also known as Rusyns or Ruthenians). Like most Rusyns, they were Greek Catholics."

Wikipedia gives the ethnic make up of the Bukovina region as follows: (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bukovina)
"Under Austrian rule Bukovina remained ethnically mixed: predominantly Romanian in the south, Ukrainian (commonly referred to as Ruthenians in the Empire) in the north, with small numbers of Hungarian Székely, Slovak and Polish peasants, and Germans, Poles and Jews in the towns. The 1910 census counted 800,198 people, of which: Ruthenian 38.88%, Romanian 34.38%, German 21.24% (Jews 12.86% included), Polish 4.55%, Hungarian 1.31%, Slovak 0.08%, Slovene 0.02%, Italian 0.02%, and a few Croat, Romani, Serbian, and Turkish. Romanians were still present in all settlements of the region, but their number decreased in the villages in the north. Many of Bukovina's Germans, and a few Romanians, emigrated in 19th and 20th century to North America.[5][6][7]"

sorry, it was a Jeffords story, a quote:
Ignorance and studpidity are not defences but might be raised to try to persuade the court to impose a lighter penalty (re the 7 year max).
