If ever there was a time to break the glass and hit the panic button, this is it. In 2010, Toronto was a much more politically innocent and naïve place than it is now.

JT seems determined not to punch back. That may be seen as a sign of weakness by some voters.

Some voters may find the Ford "bad boys" persona more attractive than JT's "nice guy" image. "Nice guys finish last."

Thankfully, Ari is riding to the rescue like the 7th Cavalry. Hope it's not too late. This battle could be JT's Last Stand.

What I'm wondering is: Doug's been in the race for a few weeks now. Where's the follow-up on the hash dealer story? Why haven't we seen or heard more on this? I don't want to assume that this story would be a mortal blow, because with the Fords it seems like nothing ever is, but clearly a strong line of attack. Matt Elliot posted the breakout of the Forum poll. There was a ridiculously low number of 18-34's polled v. 65+ (land line skew) And the 18-34's they called overwhelmingly favoured Ford. I just crunched the raw unweighted numbers... Tory 46% to Ford 33% 13 points.. not a statistical tie.

What evidence does he base that on? What Doug says?

Where Karla's family came from (Bukovina) the population at the time of immigration to Canada was 12.86% Jewish. But Ruthenian 38.88%, who were Russian Orthodox.
Also:
Romanian 34.38%, German 21.24% (Jews 12.86% included), Polish 4.55%, Hungarian 1.31%, Slovak 0.08%, Slovene 0.02%, Italian 0.02%, and a few Croat, Romani, Serbian, and Turkish.

It was a mixed area, so who knows? But we do know Karla's aunt, Eleonora Marko, who died September. 20, 1982 was buried in a Prospect Cemetery, a Christian burial ground.

It was indeed a mixed area (still part of the Austro-Hungarian empire when Karla's aunt and uncle left for Canada) with a lot of variant spellings; the 'Arenowicz/Aronowicz' spelling suggests possibly Polish, which would be a surprise for Doug.
