How many board and committee seats in total do councillors have to fill? It sounds like there are so many that most councillors wind up on a few they have no interest or desire to be on. Who was it that wound up on the heritage board without even knowing it?

The HHOF is probably a great place for Ford since it sounds like the board at large does little more than rubber stamp the budget.

The statutory minimum is 3 (councillor must be on at least 3 and Council must appoint councillor to at least 3). There are so many that they all get more pretty much all of the time. Mammo got 11, ffs.

Watch for Rob Ford to complain about the "perks" at the HHoF. Wonder what they'll be? Coffee at meetings? Free admission for board members to the HHoF?

I like how they don't feel the need to explain why Ford is completely inappropriate - people are basically saying enough is enough.

Agreed - it was GREAT to see that they didn't take a laughing hilarity stance on this and plainly said it was a major screw up. :D yay!

I was curious about the Scott Macintyre civil suit so I googled it. As of last year Ford was useing Tighe as his lawyer to rep that case. This is the lawyer that Goldsbie called "good" after watching him at the COI prelim on Thursday. Then I noted Macintyre's lawyer is Gleason. As in Gleason who is doing COI on Jude's ( the public's)side?
Does anyone else find this odd? In 2014 I wouldn't have put any dots together, but now those names jumped out at me.

SB Nation posted this pic of RoFo with their tweet about the HHOF appointment:

I must say, I don't recall ever seeing this photo.

It made me think of all those photos of girls in bikinis or white t-shirts washing cars while getting wet, only it's pretty much the antithesis -- not sexy at all! ;)

(sorry for ruining Easter :p)

If anyone is interested here is a matrix I put (current to 4/2/15) re Councillor committee pressure
1st number is total number of appointments, committees and BIA's Councillors meet with
2nd number is Standing Committees, Large External Committees and appointments (Deputy Mayors, Speakers, CC Chairs)
3rd number is the smaller externals you know the ones at ground level
4th number is BIA's meeting with a Councillor
Just to make it little more stark I've added the total number of electors in each ward according to the 2014 returns

That's very helpful, thanks, and quite an eye-opener across the range. Interesting (to me) to note that all those bone-idle lefty commie pinko downtown champagne slacker councillors are the busiest.

That Ford pic up there is from the Indy last summer

"Nearly one in five severely obese Canadians who require emergency surgery will not survive to be discharged home, new research into the latest fallout of the country’s weight problem suggests."

http://www.nationalpost.com/m/wp/bl...ns-die-in-hospital-after-an-emergency-surgery

The study does specify emergency surgeries. This is scheduled surgery, which may make a difference. I have no idea what kind of prep advice Robbie's doctors might have given him (or if he will have taken any of it that has to do with diet and nutrition, especially if radiation suppressed appetite) but maybe vitamins and supplements can offset some of the risk with advance notice.
