Major building renovation project that is currently underway at the University of Windsor. The project consists of a complete gut and rebuild of the existing law building, including the addition of new windows for natural light and reconfiguration of spaces. The building was an absolute bunker before this. Construction started in 2021 and is expected to wrap up this summer.

It's a nice piece of late modernism, glad the renovations are sympathetic to the original design.

The exterior is late modern; the interior is solidly Brutalist. It was a good-quality building originally but with some limitations that the renovation is looking to address. Notably, it lacked windows and felt overly detached and disconnected from the street and the campus. The interior common spaces for students were somewhat cramped and lacked flexibility.

I wonder if they're addressing the reportedly small women's washroom compared to the spacious men's washroom on the first level, which seemed to be an outdated reminder of when law was considered a man's profession.
