Surprised there's no Roncy thread.

I'll start the thread off by noting that construction is underway on the Dundas Roncesvalles Peace Garden in the triangle in front of the Starbucks, previously featured on UT. It'll be a huge improvement for that intersection. The section of Dundas north to Bloor is just crying out for some beautification.

Silly question but what are the boundaries of "Roncesvalles"?*

Everything between Roncesvalles and Sorauren is indesputably Roncy.

Sometimes it goes east to Macdonell or Lansdowne, sometimes even further east to the CNR even.

And then some say it includes the area west of Roncesvalles to Parkside Dr. too, but I think of that as High Park, a separate neighborhood, though obviously closely connected.

* Roncesvalles I'm pretty sure is an example of a realtors' term really catching on.

I guess I never got an answer to my question posted nearly 3 years ago.

I'm not sure as to the exact boundaries myself, but "Roncesvalles" has been used as a neighbourhood name before real estate agents found it trendy. For instance, Polish Canadians have referred to the area as "Roncesvalles" for decades.

Wow, Mean Bao is already gone...

I used to go to their Grange foodcourt location once a while when having to go into the office downtown. Their Bathurst & Queen spot is still around from my understanding. Wonder if the lower pedestrian traffic here lead to their downfall, along with pandemic impacts.
