MTL elements that I would like to see, hold the canal;)

I spent quite a bit of time in this area when I lived in MTL and it is a very cool, walkable area with all the things desired for Rossdale. Also, that black boat in the picture that says BotaBota is an old ship that was converted into a Nordic spa and restaurant. I always thought it would have been a cool idea or use for the Edmonton Riverboat to be converted into something like that as well.

Copying Calgary's Bow River alignment -- can I say very little imagination and way, way below potential for something exciting.
Calgary's Bow River Promenade works well and I'd be happy to see something similar done here. We don't need any crazy canals or other gimmicks down in Rossdale, just better utilization of our existing assets (river front, power plant, Telus Field, etc.).

^ Either make the area in question into a proper park or develop it. As it is right now the land looks like a cheap park that nobody ever uses which makes turning it into a proper park a lost cause. The next best thing to do is to develop it, which in turn will make developing the power plant and gondola station even more viable.

This package went to Council today:
3.18 Bylaw 19717 - Amendment to the Rossdale Area Redevelopment Plan
3.19 Charter Bylaw 19718 - To amend Section 541 of the Edmonton Zoning Bylaw - River Valley Activity Node
3.20 Charter Bylaw 19719 - To allow for a combination of community, commercial, recreational, sporting and entertainment uses, Rossdale

All 3 carried with a vote of 12 - 1 - 0 (Nickel against)

Amendment to Bylaw 19717 That Section 3.4.1(n)(i) of Schedule F to Bylaw 19717 be deleted and replaced with the following: Not exceed twelve (12) Storeys.

Does anyone know what's going on here, maintenance, remediation, a poorly designed waterslide 🤔
Walking by the pump house the other day and seeing this just made me think about what could be developed in this prime area and when, the sooner the better.
I hope the city acts fast once the Power plant is finally transferred to get a solid plan hashed out & include Prairie Sky and start the development next year. Putting a lot of faith in our newly appointed progressive city council...

I filled out an Insight survey on Rossdale transportation that was emailed to me this morning.

Overall, I'm greatly pleased with the plans to close parts of Rossdale Road and convert to 2-way roads.
I really like how they want to open public access east of the Rossdale Plant to the river valley MUP.
I said no to creating 102 St south of 97 Ave in favor of keeping it as a MUP.
I want them to install traffic signals at 99 Ave/Bellamy Hill and transform 99 Ave to 103 St from a partial one-way to a 2-way road.
Building a separate MUP along 97 Ave is greatly desirable but not a deal-breaker.
