There was talk of a hotel going in beside the Cowboys Casino, and that the project was to be managed by Matthews Southwest. That's the lot I thought we were talking about, but there is also the one to the NW of the BMO centre. I forgot there was a concept proposal for that lot.

CMLC doesn't even mention Matthews Southwest as part of that property anymore, so I'd assume that is dead? Seems like they'd still like a hotel there but yeah

Plan got removed when the event centre footprint expanded. I don't think they are looking at an alternate location, but am not sure.

I was wondering that too. The thing that makes me rule it out is the site is owned by the same people behind Keynote and Stephen Ave quarters (Mannix family) and I'd be surprised if they hired an expensive out of country architect, but who knows.

They were looking for $23 million capital and a $10 million a year operating subsidy in 2015. This site claims it is fully funded - paid in full. I doubt it.

The site allocated was also mostly used for the event centre.
