The current council and mayor despite their supposed progressive leanings really have not been very good at protecting the river valley.

Our zoning rules when it comes to this have been weakened in recent yeas and risk becoming a joke. Its build baby, build.
I’m gonna have to disagree with this. This is in a stretch of already private property with restricted access along the whole area. There’s no prospect of some open flow of people along here, arguably the spa actually allows people into an area that has been completely shut out to the public.

I just wish it was located a more tourist-friendly location. I'm not sure how this site compares with, say, the Legislature grounds, the Rossdale Plant or Kinsman Park.
As well as possible disruption to the natural area around it, I suspect the neighbours are not going to be keen on bringing a lot of traffic into a quiet residential area.

IMO, some place like Rossdale would have been a better location and more accessible for those who do not want to drive everywhere.

Better it be a spa than a nightclub. I have to imagine they'll be good neighbors.

Considerate commercial integration into neighborhoods is an important element of good neighborhood development, and I wouldn't object to more stores and "things to do" popping up in mine.

Yeah, I was thinking about this. I'd put up with a little extra traffic to have a place like this across the street from me.

Commercial integration sounds nice in theory, but the spa is not a corner store you can walk to to get a loaf of bread, a restaurant or coffee shop residents may go to.
