principle photography has wrapped up. post-production is sure to be intense given the heavy amount of special effects.

a friend of mine who was an extra during the scenes featuring the twins and gideon graves, saw lots of concept art.

the battles are sure to epic, likely heavy on cgi.

here mr. schwartzman provides some details of the final battle.

So Toronto will be portrayed as the arctic wasteland that the rest of the world perceives us to be?

Hmm

so it looks mr. wright let mr. jason reitman see 30 minutes of "Scott Pilgrim." reitman was in london to premiere "Up in the Air."

this is the excerpt from reitman's twitter page:
"In London, @edgarwright showed me 30min of Scott Pilgrim. While sworn to secrecy (so much, surprised blood wasn’t demanded) I will say this: It is a game changer for Edgar and the genre. It moves the speed of light and carries more unadulterated joy than I've seen in recent cinema. SP does what everyone our age has been dreaming about: achieves the first all encompassing film of the joystick generation. I’m in awe of the sheer control in the filmmaking. It feels like a “Matrix” for love and how willing we are to fight for it. If I had a movie coming out next year, I wouldn’t want to be anywhere near it. Hats off my friend. Can’t get it out of my head."

mr. wright responded to the overwhelming praise on HIS respective twitter page:
"I am very touched by @jasonreitman's lovely comments about Scott Pilgrim thus far. In unrelated news, Up in the Air ain't too shabby."

well, i'm getting more excited.

this is (as i'm sure many of you know) an old "call and response" video blog from edgar wright, simon pegg, and nick frost. i just thought it was funny: http://www.firstshowing.net/2009/07/21/edgar-wright-plays-internet-frisbee-with-pauls-simon-pegg/

i watched wright's two previous feature films and (even more explicitly) realized how perfect this man is for "Scott Pilgrim." both "Shaun of the Dead" and "Hot Fuzz" were parodies of, and tributes to, their respective film genres. both were awesomely executed and both were hilarious. i'm sure "Scott Pilgrim" will have the same response to the comic book/ video game genres.

i think a bronze statue of mr. wright will one day highlight cityplace park. or filmport. no, i kid.

anna kendrick, who plays stacey pilgrim, talks about the movie: http://wearemoviegeeks.com/wp-content/scott-pilgrim-kendrick-560x801.jpg

“You should start emotionally preparing yourself now. It’s so good, people are not going to know what hit them. I have a small role in it so I’m allowed to gush. It’s so cool. I’ve never seen anything like it. There’s an energy and a style that I’ve just never seen before and I think it’s going to make the fastest movie you’ve seen look like a Merchant Ivory film. There, I said it.”

OK!
