So, time for a six month fire update from the Mattamy Clockwork site in Oakville that lost ten homes on June 21st.

The ‘before and after’ shots you post are amazing!
Thanks @TwinHuey

I started posting some good demolition photos in the project thread starting here:

I also did a post from a similar angle of the whole complex throughout the demolition process. I can't recall if it was in my thread or the project thread. I'll have a look.

Makes me rethink how I’m storing my current drone shots. Keeping the images in separate project files will make it easier for follow up shots like you have. I like the way you shoot the after shots from the exact same perspective.

I have two parts to storage. When I come back from a shoot I create a folder with the date and unload the card. After I have posted on UT, I file the photos in a permanent location. I'll group the projects by Region (Etobicoke, Mississauga, Oakville etc) and then either street name followed by number, in this case EastMall-300, or if more of an iconic project like mcity then I'll just use that. Things seemed to happen this year and I never got around to moving the photos from the day folders to their permanent location. I have about nine thousand photos still to move so that's what I've been doing the last couple of weeks when the weather has been bad and I can't fly. It is a rough go!

I've been using a super old edition of Photoshop Elements for editing/applying my copyright name mark and it has a built in organizer but I don't think it is all that good. I may look at Adobe Lightroom in the new year.

If you shoot enough projects through the course of time, you'll begin to notice that many of the photos are taken from the same location simply because those are usually either the best location to shoot from or because there are restrictions preventing another angle.

Anyway, things to think about.

First photo: 56 Fieldway in the lower right - a stone's throw from Kipling station with 36 Fieldway just to the right of the stacked towns in the left of the frame. Both plots have redevelopment intensification plans pending.

More of 56 Fieldway looking south. Two blocks south and just visible to the right of the two white cylindrical vertical tanks is the Del's Pastry property that burned to the ground in June 2021.

Christmas Eve day folks! I hope all your shopping is done and you can enjoy the day.

Looking east on Bloor just west of Islington Ave. The vacant plot on the right housed an old Beer Store and planned redevelopment includes a mid rise seniors home. Immediately across Bloor to the left was the location of the former Legion hall and then a Tridel sales centre. Condos are planned here.

Construction commencing on the Islington station bus terminal just to the right of the rail tracks.

Islington Terrace repurposed the north lot at Islington station quite nicely.

Looking further east on Bloor, east of Islington. Etobicoke Collegiate Institute to the left of the subway tracks with the old Humberview Dealership on the right. Humberview is to become another Tridel project.

One last shot from the Islington area. Looking west towards Kipling. I posted a similar view back in the summer of this year or last. This is the moody and overcast version. The new Etobicoke Civic Centre is being built in the centre of the frame. Interesting note: the condo building right above my name mark was formerly a Bell Telephone building that was converted and a four or five storey addition made to it. It seemed to take forever to finish.

Posting out of order here. Even though it was overcast and 4 degrees, it was still good to get out and fly. Came back with three fully depleted batteries and 220 photos! I could really use a fourth battery!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Here is a shot from December 16th of the recently completed Rise at Stride complex.

I think a lot of people, but not me, got new drones for Christmas. The weather has been terrible!

Shot this morning before I got chased in by the rain.

The colourful blue and white building in an otherwise drab landscape is 420 Lakeshore Rd (Lakeshore Lofts)
