Evidently, not enough coffee for me this morning as I forgot this one showing the Mason. I wonder if that slab in the lower right of the frame will become retail or townhomes or live/work space.

I took the above shot in September of 1985. An Air Canada L1011-15 (C-FTNL later picked up by Air Transat) is just about to touch down on Runway 15 at Pearson. Note in the background (left) that the Vista Cargo building hasn't been built yet. Even more significant is that the small low rise building just ahead of the silver 747 is a portion of the Malton Air Terminal that predated the 1964 Terminal One Aeroquay!
The 747 on the right is a former American Airlines 747-123 (N9663) owned by National Airlines. It was stuck for some time with a blown number 4 engine.
I might post some stuff while I'm traveling. There might be a penguin or two that makes it into the thread

5metre waves and 45 knot winds on a sea day. To quote George Costanza "the sea was angry that day my friend." The little one has been knocked down with seasickness. Good day to lie low, literally for some folks.
I think I'll work on some photos and reduce the backlog before they become too stale.

These guys with the Robinsons were doing mad business and buzzing the ship:
Before getting to Ushuaia I set my alarm for 5AM to get shots of these hanging glaciers in the Beagle Channel
Today, crossing the Drake passage (smooth as silk fortunately) and tomorrow I'll see that big ice cube thingy - the A23 Mega ice berg 3 times the size of Manhattan.

I present the big ice cube:
Just kidding. Here is the real deal. The pictures don't do it justice. The thing is huge at 1500 sq miles and 1000 feet tall. Weather was brutal -fog, wind 35 knots gusting to 50knots, temp 1 degree, wind chill -10. Impossible to get a photo of the whole thing as it is too big.
Internet has been brutal. They charge the cost of a dedicated fixed IP fibre optic line, yet provide dial up service. I'm not kidding. It's a disgrace.

Thanks @ThatSlickCat . I took over 900 today which I think is a new record for me. Some folks have expressed an interest in the Antarctica trip photos so I'll post some so long as I have good internet and it doesn't ruffle any feathers here. Perhaps it will brighten up the mood for some people with Monday right around the corner.

The light seems to change in Antarctica every five second, as does the weather, so it is a dream location for photographers and there were a lot of them on this cruise. I saw a few folks with 600mm f4 lenses on monopods. That's some pretty expensive glass. Anyway, I hope you enjoy and have been enjoying my photos from my lowly, second hand, Nikon coolpix.
