Chipotle has never taken debit. When you ask, they tell you it's an American company. Weird, because I shop at lots of American companies, and they all take debit.

Seems like bad business sense, not only because of potentially lost customers (especially as someone pointed out, high schoolers) but of all the food that probably gets discarded because people order then find out after the fact that they don't take debit.

According to Chipotle it slows down their flow of customers. They shoot for very fast ticket times (order to payment) in order to maximize sales, they have never taken debit. Maybe now that there is flash, etc I see it probably coming though

Not taking debit is just bad business. Customers want a variety of payment options.

Zumez is close until 2014 now.

Jimmy the Greek is reopen, but the power was out for the existing section of the food court as well the south east section of the mall.

The lower level corridor to the new extension is where the washrooms were as well the service corridor.

Closing of the south entrance will not before 2014 when the existing stores are relocated to the new extension.

If they don't put in a new mall corridor, people will be using Holt entrance to get to it like they do for the Bay.

Loft open their store last Friday

Loft store open at Square One

Mississauga News ByChris Clay
MISSISSAUGA — Fashion retail chain Loft opened its new location at Square One Shopping Centre last Friday.
The company made its debut in Canada last November. It has locations in the Eaton Centre, Hamilton and Markham as well.
"Since the opening of our first international Loft store in Toronto last year, we've had the opportunity to build relationships with our Canadian customers and we’re thrilled to collaborate even more with women across Ontario through these new locations," said Alia Ahmed-Yahia, the company's chief style director. "We understand that Canadians have a unique style and through these store openings we are enthusiastic about the greater chance to share advice and uncover new ideas to help women create fashion-forward looks that are their own."
The company bills itself as providing versatile, accessible and affordable fashion.

Microsoft Store!

Square One just confirmed today that a Microsoft store will be opening in early 2014. Seems strange they can't have it open for Christmas seeing as the space has been under construction for some time now.

According to Empire Theatres Facebook page, all western Canada locations will transfer to Landmark on Oct 31 and this includes the Square One theatre.

If the Hurontario LRT goes through, will the station be attached to the mall like in Yorkdale, Fairview or STC, or will it be separated like Bayview Village?

You would be better off asking this question in the LRT thread in the Transportation forum.

The current plan calls for the line to run on Rathburn and on City Centre at grade with a stop or 2 on each one depending if the loop line get built.

They moved the west customer service desk about 3m from the railing and into the corridor some what.

So are they definitely converting that to retail space when Richtree moves downstairs as per the video?

I would say so. The decision of White House Black Market not to have exterior windows or finishing on that side facing in would imply so. Also, the treatments of the ceilings where the skylight used to be smack of temporariness. What I want to know is who is potentially taking that nice prime piece of space on the second level between Coach and Browns. Maybe J. Crew? Square One has really upped their game the past year with Lacoste, A/X, White House Black Market, Ann Taylor, Top Shop, Microsoft, and soon Holt Renfrew. Sherway Gardens is really going to have to step up their game to avoid having their lunch eaten by a more upscale Square One, firstly addressing the woefully inadequate parking situation!
