But here's the issue - it really hurts certain areas of the downtown core disportionately, I know many people who live downtown and love it but hate this element, they avoid these parks with a high amount of encampments and now consider moving to other parts of the city, which makes the parks feel emptier, further encouraging others to avoid it, encouraging more to move in, a doom spiral and a self fulling prophecy ...

There is no solution to this problem that should encourage or permit these tent cities to be setup in public parks, even short term ...

I do recognize that I am not providing an alternative as it is a very much a complex issue that likely lacks a short term fix to the core problem.
 
On a different note, does anyone know what’s happening with Fahrenheit coffee on Jarvis? It’s been closed for a week now.
Oh, no. According to Google maps all their locations are marked "temporarily closed". The founder Sameer is a great guy and they have amazing coffee and staff, so I hope they get things straightened around soon. They had just opened a new location this summer in the finance district.
