Strathcona County Transit in Alberta will begin running a double decker demo on their commuter service between Edmonton and Sherwood Park beginning mid-September. They will be gauging its performance, passenger opinion, and operator opinion over a year.
Strathcona already uses articulated buses for their high capacity routes. It will be interesting to see the data they collect with the double decker in comparison to an articulated bus. The double decker is one similar to GO Transit, but features two doors and is 80 centimetres shorter.
