Although riding the Rocket in Toronto was less expensive than, say, New York as recently as 1990, ever since, the TTC has sat on top of the fare heap. In three of the four most easily compared fare categories for major North American transit systems — the adult base fare, the adult discounted multi-trip fare, the senior reduced fare and adult monthly passes — the TTC comes up as the most costly ride. The sole exception is the adult base fare, where Toronto runs a close second to Ottawa (which says something about public transit funding in Ontario). When measured overall across the categories in question, the TTC is the most expensive single-fare integrated transit system in North America.

I assume you're asking the burning question of how TR-type unicabin trains would be used by a metro system located in a sociocultural environment where women's-only cars are a starter as an idea (Globally, there seem to be two cases: (1) some conservative Islamic societies--I think Dubai has women-only cars on its metro in addition to mixed-company ones; and (2) a society which will remain nameless with a particularly rich heritage of pervey behaviour by men in closely-packed public spaces which may or may not be the example pictured.)

The answer is a curtain.

Properly cordoning off the tentacle-porn-themed cars that will inevitably come to (2)'s metro systems some day might be trickier. A curtain mightn't cut it.

All light bulbs dim as they age. Also, there is no dust on the bulbs, fixtures, etc.

The lighting is also not behind advertisements like it is on the Hs and the T1s. The white interior must help as well. The open gangways also helps to eliminate those dark corners the older trains sometimes have by the operators cabin.

With delivery of the TRs continuing, I've noticed more 53xx cars showing up on the Bloor-Danforth line and frequently see what appear to be H4s at the north end of the Wilson yard looking an awful lot like they're being removed from service. Clearly, T1s are being transferred from Wilson to Greenwood as TRs are coming online and the H4s are leaving. Is there a timetable for when the last H4s will run in service? Will they be holding onto any H4s, lest the TRs have some sort of major issue like the H6s had after entry into service that require their removal from duty and a repositioning of some of the T1s back to the Wilson yard?
