No offence to you and your source Swarley, but I find it hard to believe that with all the transit/train geeks armed with cameras in this town hovering over boards like this one, CPTDB, various Yahoo transit groups and others, that not one has snapped a picture of this trainset, either in Greenwood yard or undergoing testing on the BD line. Presumably they'd be doing testing during revenue service hours as I find it hard to believe that they would have the time to do it when the tunnels are being serviced, and thus you would think that someone would spot this thing, say, "wow, cool, new trains", and then snap away on their cell phone camera and post it somewhere where railfans gather. Hell, even TTC supervisors and operators and mechanics have been known to post pics of stuff they shouldn't onto some of the boards, but I haven't seen any unless the crews testing these trains are being escorted by Special Constables or something.
The fact remains that we haven't seen any pics so far, have we? Either that's a hell of a coinicdence or there's something else going on. So the fact that not a single photo of this train has emerged makes me *very* skeptical that this train is in the city right now. I also would think that the TTC would actually advertise its presence, as it could use some good PR.
It's possible. Before they can start power testing the train the need to first conduct unpowered roll tests, where the train gets hooked to a locomotive and is dragged along the tracks to see how it perform. As these tests are usually done during off hours, it is possible that the testing actually took place overnight.
