Not joking: I ran by there this morning and that temporary brown cover shown here on the south and west side of the building looks better than 99% of the cladding and materials used in this city over the last 20 years. It has some warm, yet gritty, color, it looks solid (unlike all the flimsy grey spandrel in this city), and it has some grain/grooves on it that give it character (it looks like corten steel, though I don't know if that's what it is)....if Madison had put this permanently on the backside of Nobu (instead of all that cheap grey spandrel) I would have been thrilled with it....I genuinely want to figure out what that material is and whether it could be used as permanent cladding (I can't imagine that it's too expensive)

Well eventually it has to catch up.....lol. I don't know how fast though. Supply chain issues are still going to be here for at least another year so I wouldn't expect that steel to start moving faster any time soon.

If these bends are for the openings, they are a lot less superficial than I originally thought, for some reason I thought we would start seeing them when the glass went up. They also look to span more than the two floors the renders show.

The girders that arch inwards in the photos up above. Must be the part that looks like the big mouth pie hole section of this building's facade lol. And this is the first one out of the two that has to be constructed on this side. Still a long way to go for the second one.
