They should save it and use it for the old Simpson Tower, it would be a collective favor for all of us.LOVE the garbage bag cladding
Not joking: I ran by there this morning and that temporary brown cover shown here on the south and west side of the building looks better than 99% of the cladding and materials used in this city over the last 20 years. It has some warm, yet gritty, color, it looks solid (unlike all the flimsy grey spandrel in this city), and it has some grain/grooves on it that give it character (it looks like corten steel, though I don't know if that's what it is)....if Madison had put this permanently on the backside of Nobu (instead of all that cheap grey spandrel) I would have been thrilled with it....I genuinely want to figure out what that material is and whether it could be used as permanent cladding (I can't imagine that it's too expensive)
The concrete continues to rise while the steel is lagging over the last two months.
I’m sure they will catch up.
