April 4th, 2020. This is how the 160 Front West Cadillac Fairview project will now be frozen in time, as the government shutdown of commercial construction projects takes effect today.

The question is ... for how long?

And by the time the dust clears on the COVID-19 pandemic, will there still be the appetite to proceed with enormous commercial office projects such as this? Since all companies have learned that the extent their people can work from home is much higher than previously thought, the backers of this project must be at least a little nervous at this point. It all depends on how long the pandemic lasts, and on how severe the economic depression ends up being.

While unlikely at this point, we cannot rule out the possibility that this may be as far advanced as this project ever gets.

Why ? It's already fairly substantially leased at this point ...

So from the builders point of view they're fine ... now maybe come 10+ years when the leases expire !
